Redman is an ongoing project created by Adam McAlavey. It began three years ago as a single photonarrative piece and has grown into extensive project using photography and written word. New work is currently in production using live action film.

Work from the project has been exhibited in Photocinema, Format International Photography Festival 09 and is currently featured in the online photography / art magazines soanyway.com and F-Stop

Artist Statement

This whole project is based on my childhood hallucinations, I used to see a man hovering above my bed in the night glowing red. I started off trying to understand the meaning of these visions by exploring ideas in a short narrative. In doing so I opened the door to a strange parallel world with infinite stories and moments that all revolve around the Redman.
